Selecting the right type of sheet separator
The appropriate model and required number of sheet separators are determined by the following factors:
- Stack height of the sheets
- Flatness and dimensions of the sheets
- Surface condition (dry, oiled, or wet)
- Steel thickness
Mounting tip: The sheet separator must extend above the top of the sheet stack. The required magnet length is equal to the stack height plus the width of the magnet.
Capacity guideline: For standard dry steel sheets, one sheet separator can separate approx. 30 dm² of sheet surface area; under adverse conditions (such as heavy oil films), this is approx. 15 dm². Depending on manual or automated feeding, one or more units should be installed.
