The key advantage of deep pot magnets (rod grippers) compared to flat shallow pot magnets lies in their cylindrical height. This allows them to be recessed deeply into components and – particularly with brass housing – offers a flush press-fit with maximum repeatability in automation technology, mold making, and tool making.

What is the benefit of a brass housing when installing into steel?
It prevents a magnetic short circuit. The non-magnetic brass isolates the magnetic flux and directs the force entirely to the active pole face.

Why is the holding force higher than that of regular rod magnets?
Due to the pot principle (recoiling of the magnetic field through the metal sleeve), the flux lines are bundled, which multiplies the force at the contact face.

Can the deep pot magnets be shortened or machined?
No. The housing and the magnet core are precisely matched. Mechanical machining destroys the system and leads to a total loss of holding force.

What options are available for temperatures exceeding 80 °C?
For high-temperature processes (e.g., in paint shops or casting facilities), we switch to specialized Samarium-Cobalt (SmCo) or AlNiCo systems. Please contact our support team for advice.
