Neodymium Deep Pot Magnets / Rod Grippers
High-quality magnet systems designed for demanding industrial applications in machine building, mold making, and tooling.
The steel or brass sleeve optimizes the path of the magnetic flux directly to the pole face, resulting in an extremely high holding force within a minimal installation diameter.
- Designs: Available with either a steel or brass sleeve.
- Mounting: Featuring an internal thread or a smooth sleeve with a precise h6 tolerance for exact press-fit assembly.
- Temperature Range: Standard operating capacity up to 80 °C.
- Protection: The metal housing effectively protects the neodymium core from mechanical damage.

What are Neodymium pot magnets with threaded neck?
Neodymium bush magnets (also known as pot magnets with an internal thread or threaded neck) are powerful shallow pot magnets equipped with a female **threaded bush**. The steel housing surrounding the magnet directs the magnetic field lines to the active lower face, resulting in an extremely high perpendicular holding force on metal surfaces. The integrated threaded bush makes these magnets the perfect choice for constructions requiring a highly secure yet flexible screw connection.
The Advantages of a Pot Magnet with a Threaded Bush
Magnet systems with an internal thread offer several unique mechanical and logistical advantages for industrial applications and professional installation:
Simple and Concealed Mounting: Thanks to the internal thread, you can quickly and securely screw the magnet onto threaded studs, bolts, or machine components. The fastening is located at the rear, keeping the active magnet face completely flat and flush against the metallic counterplate.
Extreme Power in a Compact Size: Because these systems utilize high-grade Neodymium (NdFeB), they deliver massive holding power even with a small diameter. Please note during engineering: the maximum operating temperature of standard neodymium is 80 °C. Looking for a solution for extreme heat? Check out our ferrite magnets (up to 200 °C) or AlNiCo magnets (up to 450 °C).
Easy Scratch Protection: Want to use these metal-on-metal bush magnets on delicate or painted surfaces without leaving scratches? In our accessories category, you will find perfectly matching rubber protective caps. These caps not only protect against scratches but also increase shear force due to friction during vertical wall mounting. Looking for a magnet that is already completely encased in rubber? Versatile B2B Applications
Neodymium magnets with a threaded bush are a staple in shopfitting, exhibition stand construction, display systems, and general mechanical engineering. They are widely used for the blind hanging of panels, temporary fixation of molds, or mounting lighting and tools in workshops and commercial vehicles. Thanks to standardized metric thread sizes (ranging from M3 up to M10), they integrate seamlessly with existing industrial components.

Guide & FAQ: Deep Pot Magnets vs. Shallow Pot Magnets
The key advantage of deep pot magnets (rod grippers) compared to flat shallow pot magnets lies in their cylindrical height. This allows them to be recessed deeply into components and – particularly with brass housing – offers a flush press-fit with maximum repeatability in automation technology, mold making, and tool making.
What is the benefit of a brass housing when installing into steel?
It prevents a magnetic short circuit. The non-magnetic brass isolates the magnetic flux and directs the force entirely to the active pole face.
Why is the holding force higher than that of regular rod magnets?
Due to the pot principle (recoiling of the magnetic field through the metal sleeve), the flux lines are bundled, which multiplies the force at the contact face.
Can the deep pot magnets be shortened or machined?
No. The housing and the magnet core are precisely matched. Mechanical machining destroys the system and leads to a total loss of holding force.
What options are available for temperatures exceeding 80 °C?
For high-temperature processes (e.g., in paint shops or casting facilities), we switch to specialized Samarium-Cobalt (SmCo) or AlNiCo systems. Please contact our support team for advice.
