What are pot magnets and how do they work?
A pot magnet is a permanent magnet embedded in a steel housing (the 'pot'). This steel jacket ensures that the magnetic field lines do not radiate in all directions, but are focused onto a single active face. As a result, the perpendicular holding force of a pot magnet on a metal surface is many times greater than that of a loose magnet of the same size. Pot magnets are therefore the ultimate solution for clamping, lifting, and mounting in industry, stand construction, interior fitting, and workshops.
Which type of pot magnet do you need?
To help you make the right choice, we have divided our range into three main categories. Each material has its own unique properties and advantages:
1. Neodymium pot magnets (Maximum strength, compact size)
Neodymium is the strongest magnetic material in the world. These pot magnets offer extreme holding force, even in very small dimensions. They are ideal when you have limited mounting space but still need to carry a heavy load. Please note: standard neodymium magnets are sensitive to corrosion and heat (max. 80 °C) and are therefore mainly suitable for indoor use.
2. Ferrite pot magnets (Weather-resistant, heat-resistant, and economical)
Do you need slightly less holding force or is the size of the magnet less important? Then ferrite is the smartest and most economical choice. Ferrite is naturally rust-proof, making it excellent for outdoor use or in humid environments. Furthermore, they retain their magnetic force up to a working temperature of no less than 200 °C.
3. Rubber-coated magnets (Scratch-free and maximum shear force)
When placing a magnet vertically on a wall or steel profile, you are dealing with shear force (the magnet sliding downwards). Smooth steel-on-steel surfaces slide easily. Our rubber-wrapped magnet systems offer an enormous shear force due to the extra mechanical friction provided by the rubber. Additionally, the soft Santoprene© coating perfectly protects sensitive surfaces — such as car paint, whiteboards, and office furniture — from scratches.
Various Mounting Configurations and Accessories
Our pot magnets are available in dozens of mechanical configurations, ensuring a solution for every project. Choose, for example, from variants with an internal thread (threaded bush), an external thread stud, a countersunk hole, or a cylindrical counterbore.
Do you have a non-magnetic surface such as wood, plastic, or drywall? No problem. In our accessories category, you will find a wide range of steel counterplates (strike plates), screw hooks, eyebolts, and loose rubber protective caps to complete your mounting system.

Buy high-performance pot magnets for professional mounting
Are you looking for a secure and reliable way to fasten objects without the need for drilling? Our pot magnets (also known as cup magnets) provide maximum holding power in a compact design. The steel shell directs the magnetic flux of the core (Neodymium or Ferrite) onto the contact surface, resulting in an exceptional pulling force on a small footprint.
